Why a BMA anorak?

Inspired by traditional Indigenous outer shells, BMA anoraks are handmade in Canada with a commitment to provide you with heirloom quality, functional garments. Our anoraks are designed with a focus on thermal regulation– we make them wide and long to protect your vitals and allow for layering. In addition, we think reliability is especially important when out in the bush so we actively avoid using hardware that can fail like zippers and snaps. From the gauntlet to the sleeves to the kangaroo pocket, every detail was meticulously thought out to maximize your warmth and comfort while exploring nature.

The benefits of wool:

- Antibacterial

- Hypoallergenic

- Water repellent

- Fire retardant

- Moisture wicking

- Silent

- Retains up to 80% of its insulating properties when wet

BMA’s Dual Layering System

For all of you layering enthusiasts, we recommend one of our canvas anoraks to be worn over our wool anoraks. While each can be worn on their own, this combined layering system – wool inside, canvas outside – will keep you extra warm and dry. If you are considering two layers, we recommend starting with only a woolie first. Also, remember that your canvas anorak will likely need to be larger than your woolie so you can layer comfortably. For questions or more information about our dual layering system, feel free to contact us before your purchase and we’ll be happy to walk you through the process.

Awesome Voyageur Anorak

I'm very pleased with the fit and finish on my Anorak. My size is 2XL Tall. I have the right amount of room underneath, and the sleeve length came out just right. The wool is good and thick. Great job. Thanks again.

Amazing

I found this on a you tube video from Forrest walker. I called the owner to verify the best size and fit for me and man what a great guy! I felt like I could chat with him all day. Anyway I live in the mountains of North New Hampshire and this Anorak is like a suit of armor against the cold. I have tested it at -4 below which is pretty cold for us. It’s amazing and the wind is zero factor with this tight weave. So far I have spent my days out walking the dogs in the mountains. Chopping trees, stacking firewood, and working construction. I thought it might be bulky for construction and forestry work but it is not. The fit is perfect and allows for agile movement. Yesterday I was on a ladder roofing in the wind. When it’s very cold I wear my long john top underneath it but typically I just wear a t-shirt underneath, and I am feel quite warm and cozy. did get mine with the side slits for my sidearm which was a great option and I have practiced punching out my draw stroke. This Anorak is excellent for concealed carry and a far better option for quick draw vs an overcoat. I am ordering one of the blankets next.
I cannot recommend this product enough.
