Why a BMA anorak?

Inspired by traditional Indigenous outer shells, BMA anoraks are handmade in Canada with a commitment to provide you with heirloom quality, functional garments. Our anoraks are designed with a focus on thermal regulation– we make them wide and long to protect your vitals and allow for layering. In addition, we think reliability is especially important when out in the bush so we actively avoid using hardware that can fail like zippers and snaps. From the gauntlet to the sleeves to the kangaroo pocket, every detail was meticulously thought out to maximize your warmth and comfort while exploring nature.

The benefits of wool:

- Antibacterial

- Hypoallergenic

- Water repellent

- Fire retardant

- Moisture wicking

- Silent

- Retains up to 80% of its insulating properties when wet

BMA’s Dual Layering System

For all of you layering enthusiasts, we recommend one of our canvas anoraks to be worn over our wool anoraks. While each can be worn on their own, this combined layering system – wool inside, canvas outside – will keep you extra warm and dry. If you are considering two layers, we recommend starting with only a woolie first. Also, remember that your canvas anorak will likely need to be larger than your woolie so you can layer comfortably. For questions or more information about our dual layering system, feel free to contact us before your purchase and we’ll be happy to walk you through the process.

I absolutely Love my pullover
I thought it would be too small but after wearing it for a while I have found that it fits like a glove.
I Love it.

Superb piece of kit

Where should I start.
So, arrived to Scotland in 5 days, impressive journey and super fast delivery!
Construction and overall quality is Stelar! Stitching is of the highest quality and materials used are just as good and well made as you’d expect from BMA.
Wool feel soft and smells great! Thick and soft, warm and feels great on the bear skin.
Tested it already… just can’t praise it enough.
Overall superb customer service, superb anorak and workmanship!
Thank you Diane for the great work and Andy for the great product!

Best Birthday Gift

I got this as a birthday gift for my husband and he LOVES it. He brought it to the next 3 events we had to show everyone. It's incredibly well made and everything an outdoorsman could dream of - warm, comfortable, STURDY, you name it. He's beyond excited to use it for our hunting trips. If you're thinking about getting it for someone, do it! and if you're thinking of getting it for yourself, DO IT!! I know I'm going to get myself one next year. The price is steep but it's WELL worth it. Buy once, cry once!! This thing will last generations.

10/10 would buy again

First trip camping with this was in Central Washington and I slept through the cold like a champ.
Had a unique smell upon arrival, but I think it fades with use.

Looking forward to winter!

Bought this in July 2021. Beautifully handmade and stitched. Fits perfectly on my 6’2” 250 large frame. I have been unable to test it in the cold but I am looking forward to testing it in the North Georgia mountains and backpacking on the AT this winter. Thanks Andy for all of your help. Customer service was amazing! Great job on making it Francesca!
