The poncho doesn’t have turbulence in 20 ish plus winds like most nylon versions a real plus.Very happy with my purchase it’s not a light weight but durability is more important when it counts.

I ordered mine as part of the complete kit (wool anorak, canvas anorak, and gaiters). They are very well made, fit well, and go with my anorak (both are loden). I spoke with Andy to determine proper sizing and glad I did. I thought the sizing was by shoe size. Andy told me that it is not, it is by your calf size. I then took an XL. I like mine very much. They look and fit like my old OR gaiters (hook the shoes laces toward the toe, secure at the calf, stick the Velcro, and buckle under the instep). Truth be told, I have not worn them outside to date (the weather got too warm). However, I am very much looking forward to wearing them this coming winter. I like mine very much and heartily recommend them. They are great to keep the snow out at the boot/pants transition and provide some extra warmth to the lower extremities. I recommend them very much.

I recently bought my Arctic Anorak with a loden green wool anorak and loden gaiters. The wool anorak arrived five days after my order, as they were in stock. The canvas anorak and gaiters took the full six weeks to arrive; they were not in stock and had to be made. I have already reviewed the wool anorak, so this one will be on canvas anorak. This thing is plenty big! I took Andy’s advice and had it made two sizes larger than the wool, meaning a 5XL canvas anorak. I originally thought that this would be too big. It was big, but not too big. It is roomy enough (without being bulky) with plenty of room for air circulation, it was easy to get on/off and wears very comfortably over my wool anorak. It goes down to about my knees (it is like a mini tent – good for the occasional overnight without a tent). The sleeves are long and wide enough (not to bind), the kangaroo pocket is large enough for quick reach to essentials (knife, first aid kit, fire starter, etc.), and the hood and gauntlet are made for the long haul. Once again, I recommend speaking with Andy prior to purchasing, as he will offer plenty of assistance and insight, to make your experience even better. Like others have said before me, if you are on the fence about buying, take the leap and do it. It is a high-quality product that will provide you with years of enjoyable service.

If you are a layering type, I would error on the side of going larger. I ordered a large and wish I had gone extra large.
I am not overweight by any stretch, weigh 165 lbs.
The large is a little snug around the back of my shoulders!

Can’t recommend highly enough

This Anorak is a work of art. Although expensive, it might be the best single piece of gear I’ve ever purchased (I got the pants too but I’ve some work to do hemming them). Tested it today on a hike in 21°-32°F weather with some flurries here and there. It’s a great layer when the snow isn’t wet. It’s large enough that it breathes when you’re moving. I threw some layers on under it with a waxed cotton poncho over top of it when I sat down for 30-40 minutes or so to eat my lunch. I was quite comfy sitting there eating my lunch, even with a flurry blowing snow sideways across the ridge I had posted up on. I am extremely excited to use this and the matching pants for some late season hunting up in Montana. Awesome product!

Extremely well made, very warm.

I have wanted to buy this for the last couple of years but finally did in February of 2026, just before the blizzard hit in New England. So far, I have only worn it cleaning the driveway and a little bit around town after that. But it is now my winter go-to. I am so glad that I purchased it. It is incredibly warm (I have yet to wear it with more than a short sleeve cotton T shirt underneath in 18°F windy weather). The wool is very dense, yet unbelievably, not itchy at all. The fit is perfect (3XL), it extends to about mid-thigh, adding to its warmth. The sleeves are just the right length (I was most worried about them being too long). The 3-piece hood is plenty large, and the chin protection is unparalleled. The kangaroo front pocket is enormous and adds an additional layer of wool to the front area. Its overall construction is uncommonly very good. It is made so that it won’t fail when needed most. No zippers, just lacings (looks more like para-cord) with cord locks. I recommend giving Andy a call, he will answer all your questions and walk you through sizing. He is extremely helpful. If you are on the fence about purchasing this, do yourself a favor, speak with Andy, make your selection, and purchase it. As others have said, it is very much worth it.

I finally received these pants and the wait was worth it. I used the size guide and the fit is perfect. The quality of craftsmanship in these pants is simply impeccable. The wool is nice and thick. Just beautiful pants. If you are on the fence get them you won't be disappointed.
